Yes.... And?
This week I spent time in a call where we dis-cussed the idea of paradox which is that “Paradoxes embrace ambiguity, expose our intolerance for uncertainty, push our boundaries, and, if we hang on long enough, often force us to deny the comfort of our ideology for a deeper wisdom that is a more honest reflection of the human experience and the human spirit” (Brene Brown “Strong Ground”).

Building Dreams, Transforming Lives - February 2026
We did it!
When we started this project, the experts told us that we could raise more than $100,000, and we knew that we wanted this to be a challenge that was going to take effort and work, but still be achievable. So the planning team settled on $202,600, and you know what…

Accidental Saints
We ’re spending this time before Lent talking about accidental saints, those people where we find God and they don’t exactly “fit the bill” for those we should find God in. Which, I think is actually the majority of us. When we talk about saints, we often think of individuals who have had their sainthood declared, but the fact is, ordinary people can and will do extraordinary things. As we continue to celebrate and remember 100 years in this congregation, we can’t help but

Christian Women's Fellowship - January 2026 Information Brief
Christian Women’s Fellowship Christmas Gathering Ladies from all three groups gathered at Paris West on December 13, 2025, for fellowship, joining in the Christmas spirit and giving back to the community. The ladies enjoyed various meals from the Paris West menu while spreading the Christmas spirit within the gathering, which was reflected in the collection of toys, blankets, and cat litter for the Cheyenne Animal Shelter. Building Dreams, Transforming Lives - January 2026
Three and a half years seems like such a long time. And yet, with only a few days left to our campaign, it feels like it flew by. A few days left to share the word about what we’re doing, about how much we’ve raised already and how much good we plan to do with it.
This campaign began entirely to honor our 100th birthday as First Christian Church in Cheyenne, 100 years of doing God’s work in our home, a way to take the past into the present and keep it moving for the future.

Building Dreams, Transforming Lives - December 2025
Wow has it been a wild ride. 3 years ago, we started with a crazy idea to celebrate our 100th anniversary with a campaign to help homeless teen moms. I know many of us, me included, wondered how we were going to do it, but I had faith we would figure it out because that is what FCC Cheyenne does.

Cheyenne First Christian Church—History Part 19
2021: Vision and Revitalization By May 2021, Pastor Aerii and the elders had begun a crucial process of examining the church's concerns and aspirations for the future. This strategic planning effort involved comparing current challenges with the 2018 list compiled by Pastor Brite, who had encouraged the congregation to be creative, "think outside the box," and move toward ministry that was not based on habit or "what we've done before," but instead on the always-creative cal

Building Dreams, Transforming Lives - November 2025
We have always wanted to be part of a church that focuses on taking care of the people who need help the most. On one of the first Sundays we visited First Christian Church, we realized we had found exactly what we were hoping for. That Sunday, we heard a report from the outreach committee on all the projects the church was actively involved with. One that jumped out to me was the U&I 4 USI campaign. I was already familiar with USI, so I was really excited to hear FCC was sup

Call to Leadership for All
I ’ve been teaching the youth group kids all about incarnation and what it means to be an anointed one, just like Jesus is. We dove deep into what it means to be a leader and the qualities and skills that we want to have in good leaders. It led to some really interesting conversations! But we’re also in that season as a congregation too. Every year, at the end of the year, we work to build our slate of officers or leadership for the upcoming year. Some roles won’t change, an

Building Dreams, Transforming Lives - October 2025
When a TEENAGER becomes a PARENT , their whole world CHANGES. Suddenly, they’re RESPONSIBLE for another LIFE while still figuring out their own. It’s a CHALLENGING situation, but one where our SUPPORT can make a REAL difference. As a CHURCH COMMUNITY , First Christian Church (DOC), Cheyenne, has a ROLE to play. We can create an ENVIRONMENT where young PARENTS feel SUPPORTED , not JUDGED . Where they can continue their EDUCATION , access HEALTHCARE , and learn PARENTING SK
