Have you ever had a dream that you thought was not attainable? Many of us have, however, with God’s help, we are somehow able to attain it. Our campaign to raise money to build a home for homeless teen moms is our dream.
Instead of First Christian Church celebrating its 100th birthday with just a party, we decided to include our community. We are a church of mission that works in the community to make it a better city, state, country, and world for all of us. So with that said, a committee was formed to see what we could do. It became apparent in research that what Cheyenne needed was a home for homeless teen moms. In any given year, there is at least 3 homeless teen moms in our community. Can you imagine that? We set our goal to raise $202,600.00 to give as our 100th Birthday Present to the Unaccompanied Students Initiative to help build a homeless shelter for teen moms. This amount was set because our 100th Birthday will be in January 2026. We will not only raise these funds but will also have a party to celebrate on January 18, 2026. Please save this date.
Many thought this was unattainable. The hard work of our team and our congregation has proved that wrong. As of January 2025, we have raised $155,151.00 with $47,028 to raise. We still have 9-10 months to raise these remaining funds.
We have numerous community fundraisers in the works. Look for them, and we will need your help. Especially, keep this mission and our church in your prayers. God is with us in this mission.
For it is written, “DO FOR OTHERS AS YOU WOULD DO FOR YOURSELF”
Thank You and Blessings to All, Judy Osborn
