When a teenager becomes a parent, their whole world changes.
Suddenly, they’re responsible for another life while still figuring out their own. It’s a challenging situation, but one where our support can make a real difference.
As a church community, FCC has a role to play.
We can create an environment where young parents feel supported, not judged.
Where they can continue their education, access healthcare, and learn parenting skills.
The UNACCOMPANIED STUDENTS INITIATIVE (USI) campaign supports FCC’s vision to impact the community in a meaningful way and celebrate 100 YEARS of Christian worship and outreach in CHEYENNE, WYOMING.
Supporting young parents isn’t just about helping individuals – it’s about strengthening our entire community.
When we invest in these young families, we’re investing in our future.
Together, we can MAKE A DIFFERENCE.
Let’s continue to commit to supporting the young parents in our community, helping them BUILD STRONG FAMILIES and BRIGHT FUTURES.
By working together, we can provide the support and opportunities that children and families need to thrive.
So, the more we can demonstrate the gritty reality of what happens to these young men and women who enter into early parenthood too soon, the more we are going to be sending a message of responsibility and of HOPE.
That there is something worth waiting for, there is a FUTURE out there that they can have if they STAY in SCHOOL, they GET EDUCATED, and they OBTAIN JOB SKILLS so that eventually they will be able to SUPPORT the CHILDREN that they want so DESPERATELY to have.
So, we've got a lot to do ahead of us.
But I think if we continue on the PATH the CAMPAIGN has CHARTED; if we recognize that we're not going to REACH young people by LECTURING at them or HANDING them a BROCHURE but need to be much more ACTIVE in their COMMUNITIES, in their SCHOOLS, in their CHURCHES.
And if we are much more REALISTIC in TALKING to them about their LIVES, then we KNOW we can MAKE A DIFFERENCE.
