Where has the time gone?
Looking back it was April 4, 2022, over a year ago!, when I made notes for our USI meeting. Disciples Church Extension Fund was contacted and gave us a format to get started. The key people of Aerii Smith, Rita Basom, Ruby Zubrod, Judy Osborn, Alice Evans, Jane Lessenger, Susann Robbins, Ruth Reynolds, Linda Chasson, Merle Bailey, and Rick Gano became a leadership team. Everyone is welcome in whatever way they feel best. All gifts of the spirit, given by the Lord, can be cheerfully utilized.
Banners, flyers, pamphlets, a prayer guide, and other materials were developed with our theme and logo. We officially launched this campaign on June 5, 2022 with a celebration on the 26th to kick us off on this journey for our Cheyenne community.
Reading 1 Thessalonians 5:17 it briefly states to pray continually. This endeavor calls for the daily prayers in support of anyone working behind the scenes and upfront to meet the goal. It is no small task to build a house, let alone a specific house for homeless teen mothers. We know our $202,600 fundraising goal is not enough. The donations to date of $86,094.67 are invested to earn a little interest. The campaign has had a few fund-raising events and have plans for more. FCC pledges of $111,910 is outstanding! The $90,700 bridge to $202,600 needs people’s resources of connections with businesses or other non-profits making those contacts so the whole community can contribute.
It has been said busy people get things done. How have you been busy for Building Dreams and Transforming Lives? Referring again to 1 Thessalonians now 1:3 “We remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labor prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.”
