Where Is There a New Thing at FCC Cheyenne?

The art of change and transition is truly an art form. But with it can also come change and transition fatigue. We’ve had a lot of these types of transitions going on recently, and unfortunately and fortunately, even more to come.

This is the second hard part about re-visioning who we are as a congregation. The first is making sure that we stay in the dreaming and wondering stage, the place where we ask a whole lot of questions and don’t find a whole lot of answers.

It’s an uncomfortable space, but it’s one that is so important in order for us to flourish and to help us discover who we really are. The second part, transitioning, is equally hard.

There’s been a lot of questions coming up about what the plan is going forward, what our vision will be, and I’m sad to say that we still don’t have one yet. And we probably won’t have one for a while.

But I would love to invite you all, formally, to the town hall meeting on June 22nd after worship service. We’ll share a meal and hear a presentation from our Breakthrough Vision team about what they believe it is that our church values.

Discovering our values is one step closer to figuring out where we go from here. These values aren’t set in stone, but they speak to who we are and who we want to continue to become. So as we continue to move forward in figuring out what our next steps will be, these values will become our center point.

Which is why it’s so important for you to be at the town hall. Yes, the Breakthrough Vision team is presenting, but they’re also looking for feedback and discussion. Do these values resonate? Are they right on point when it comes to what we value as a congregation? Are they way off the mark? What have they missed in their discussions?

We need you and your voice in order to continue the conversation, so please, come, discuss, pray, discern, and let’s work toward centering ourselves as a community of Christ.
