Building Dreams, Transforming Lives - May 2025

Updated: Jun 9

Since June 2022 the Building Dreams - Transforming Lives committee has been meeting on a regular basis. When, in the beginning, discussing the amount of the goal to reach there were doubts about how much we could raise. Seems like some of us were just like doubting Thomas. If we couldn’t see and touch, how could it be possible, how could it happen?

The story of the Tortoise and the Hare provides a good analogy for this campaign. The initial pledged amounts got the campaign off to a great start. The race was on! There were a couple of setbacks and we could have relaxed. Fundraisers included the Super Day tent, Texas Roadhouse, Elks Breakfasts, Perkins, Chili Cook-off, pizza and potato sale fueled the effort. Some nice amounts were contributed. Like the tortoise passing the hare, the campaign steadily moved forward. We had fun along the way with garage sales and the Elvis Concert. More fun is proposed for this year.

As always, when more people come to the party the greater the success. Let’s be the church community people ask and talk about. Where is that church that has come out of its shell and see how they are winning. So when you are asked to join the race as we come around the corner to the finish, please share your gift of participation. There is no doubt that as we keep moving forward with fundraisers, some matching funds, and staying the course with our pledges, we can win this long race.

Jesus came into the world to show the people a new way. Mark 9:23 Jesus said unto him,  “If you are able! All things can be done for the one who believes.” Just as doubting Thomas was assured all things are possible, we know this campaign's goal is possible as we continue moving forward serving the community and to the 100th Anniversary celebration.
