In any fundraising campaign there are numerous ways to raise money. The U&I4USI campaign is no different. First the committee reached out to FCC Cheyenne members and attendees to request support for this campaign. Many pledged their financial support over a 3 ½ year period. We can still take pledges/donations from anyone who wants to support this campaign and wasn’t here at its inception!
Next we reached out to past members and friends and a number of them made contributions.
We worked with an Investment Firm to see how best to safely invest these funds to earn interest on them over the 3 ½ year period. Every month we get another CD with the money contributed during the previous month. For short-term CD’s, the original amount and the earnings are reinvested. All CD’s will mature by the end of December, 2025. Building the value of our CD’s helps our funds to grow.
FCC groups have raised funds that were given to the U&I4USI campaign such as the proceeds from the CWF Chili Cook-off, the Ice Cream Social, etc.
We made a list of businesses to approach for support and are still working to contact those business owners and banks.
We have researched foundations that will support this type of project, and will be writing proposals to several that seem promising.
And, we’ve held a number of events to help raise funds, i.e. the Elvis concert, the 2023 “Love in Action” Garage Sale, numerous raffles and others, most recently the Cindy White Estate Sale which I was in charge of as Cindy’s Trustee. As of the end of July, we have raised $131,381.53 which does not include interest from our CD’s. Our Goal of $202,600 by January, 2026 is in sight!
The numbers for our Estate Sale are still not complete, as several folks owe a few dollars here and there, but we grossed around $9,000. Half of that will come to our U&I4USI campaign, as Cindy White had wanted, and the other half will go into a Special Needs Trust for Cindy’s adult son with cognitive disabilities. I would say this is a “win/win” and I want to thank everyone who was involved in any way, from set-up, sorting and pricing, to working the sale, to tear-down and delivering unsold items to local nonprofit groups, and tables etc. back to the church. It was a huge undertaking and FCC folks stepped up to help. I am so grateful for this amazing Church Family, and I want to give credit to all who were involved.

As the saying goes, “It takes a Village”, but in our case “It takes a church” and family and friends all working together to hold an Estate Sale, or to run an entire Fundraising campaign. Thanks to all of you, “We got this!”
