The impact of our USI, Unaccompanied Student Initiative, campaign has already reached far beyond the walls of our church. This year, I served as the treasur- er for my school’s National Honor Society chapter.
When we began brainstorming causes to support through our winter dance fundraiser, I immediately thought of USI. I had learned about their mission through our campaign at FCC, and I realized how relevant and vital their work is, especially for youth in our own community.
So, I shared USI with my chapter. I told them about the lives they touch, what they stand for, and how I came to know about them through our church. The response was unanimous: supporting USI just made sense. After all, these are students we go to school with. And because of what I’d learned through FCC’s campaign, I was able to connect those dots and inspire action. As a result, our NHS chapter chose USI as our beneficiary and made a mean- ingful donation to support their work.
That decision, and the difference it made, was only possible because of the awareness and passion cultivated right here at FCC. What this experience has taught me is simple but powerful: when we talk about what matters, when we keep the conversation going, our impact grows. That’s why we must continue to share the story and mission of the USI campaign. You never know who’s listening or how far those ripples
will spread.
