FCC Breakthrough Teams

You may be wondering what these conversations that are happening are. Right now there is a whole lot of dreaming and wondering and questioning conversations happening. The Board has created two separate teams to look into two areas within the church.

It’s hard to separate these teams in a lot of ways because the work they’re doing intermingles often, and they rely on each other to keep the conversations moving forward.

The teams met for the first time in July of this year. First, they met together to get a handle on the topics and the exploration and the dreaming that they’ll be doing going forward. This happened on July 7th.

On July 14th, the Breakthrough Vision team met to discuss a way to move their conversation forward. The goal and purpose of the Vision team is to figure out the direction God is leading us to go in the future in terms of our vision and mission.

Questions like: What is our focus? Who are we as a congregation? Who do we want to be? Who is God calling us to become?

On July 28th, the Breakthrough Structure team met to discuss their way forward. They’ve decided that their first goal is to figure out how long we can sustain financially as a congregation with our current income and expenses and reserve funds

But there was also a great discussion and hope for the future of the church and a plethora of ideas of how to build relationships with each other and more individuals outside of the congregation or on the edges of our current congregation.

These two groups will continue to meet for some time. They’ll be in conversation with the board but also with everyone within the congregation. They are working on plans to hold a town hall meeting and listening sessions so they can hear from the whole of the congregation on where God is calling us to go.

If you’d like more information on these teams or have questions, please contact Ruby Zubrod or Pastor Aerii.
