A Recap from May
Spring was definitely in the air on May 10 in Fellowship Hall at the Ladies Spring Gathering Brunch sponsored by the Christian Women’s Fellowship. In addition to the awesome brunch prepared by Chef Jamie, the fellowship was ever present and as sunny as the day!
The insight into genealogy presented by Janice Riedel was most interesting and the group received tips on tracing their roots on their own. An additional surprise was the unveiling of the First Christian Church 100th anniversary banner.
Once again, the women of CWF thank the terrific help that they received from the ever giving men of the church, Allan Cunningham, Ken Spear, Jim Evans, James Evans and Dave Larsen. Their assistance definitely contributed to the success of the special event.
Coming in June
All women are welcome to attend one of the three CWF groups that meet monthly.
Or, if you would like, you are welcome to attend all three.
Thursday, June 12
11:00 a.m. – Martha Ruth, the morning group – meeting in Fellowship Hall
“Busyness – (Finding God in the Whirlwind)” is the book this group is studying. The facilitator, Lisa Evans, is most excited about the timely theme of finding calm in the storm of our daily lives in today’s world that is found in this study book. Each one of us could undoubtedly find comfort through the discussion with others of strategies in cutting down the noise and of making God our central anchor through it all.
1:00 p.m. – Lydia, the afternoon group – meeting in Fellowship Hall
This group is currently using the study book “Praying with Power” by Christa Kinde. – For those who study the chapters before the meetings. At this June meeting we will be jumping ahead to Chapter 8, “Praying Out Loud,” with Rita Basom leading the study. – Question to Ponder:
“Why is it so hard for some of us to pray out loud with other Christians?” Then, in September, Chapter 6, “Journaling Prayers,” will be studied.
6:00 p.m. – Sarah, the evening group – meeting at Village Inn
Sarah began studying a new book, “Miracles Signs of God’s Glory” in May. When studying the pages of the Bible, the desire for a miracle intensifies as one reads astonishing stories of God’s power poured out. Through these explorations we consider, “What do these events have to do with us?” “How can we experience the power of God in the battles we face every day?”
Jennifer Russell will facilitate this study of the second chapter.
These studies through CWF help us grow together in our Christian Faith.
